In his magnum opus Why I Became An Atheist: A Former Preacher Rejects Christianity, former evangelical Christian apologist and pastor, John Loftus, offers a book-length critique of Christianity, leveling objections against virtually every major argument offered by contemporary Christian apologists. In so doing, Loftus seeks to establish a refutation of the Kalam Cosmological Argument, the locus classicus of his former mentor and teacher, William Lane Craig. It is the contention of this paper that Loftus’s attempted refutation fails.
